As a part of my lesson on fractions, I created a schedule and provided the students’ with the opportunity to keep track my randomly choosing a student to color in each square as we completed a task.

Instructional delivery refers to when the teacher has the ability to effectively engage students in learning by implementing a variety of instructional strategies in order to meet individual learning needs. Differentiated instruction accommodates for the learning needs of all students, in order to do this, teachers implement, evaluate, and adapt multiple delivery methods and instructional strategies to actively engage students while also enhancing student learning. It is also important for the teacher to communicate clearly and check regularly for understanding. To maintain a successful and productive classroom, teachers must know when and how to access and integrate resources to support student learning.

Here you can see the students participating in a check for understanding, where the student will put their “thumbs up” if they understand. This is a great way to check in with the students to ensure that all of the students are on the same page. This also allows the teacher the opportunity to identify struggling students and adjust accordingly.

I try to incorporate dance/movement and music into every lesson that I can. These are great ways to engage the students and get them excited for their learning.
